Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner, Acquisition Portfolio Management Directorate, located in one of the following locations: Washington, DC Indianapolis, IN
What You'll Do
- →Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Acquisition Portfolio Management Directorate, will allow you to utilize your expertise serving as a central authority and technical expert, providing leadership and direction for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of complex IT software programs.
- →This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10) Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
- →Major Duties: Serving as an Acquisition Program Manager (APM), uniquely empowered to make final scope of work and capital investment decisions on behalf of the government, and is ultimately accountable for the success of assigned acquisition programs.
- →Managing a platform, multiple processes, or program segments, and the incumbent ensures Acquisitions are successfully planned, programmed, budgeted, assessed, and analyzed from concept through production and operations.
- →Serving as the principal source of information for internal and external inquiries with direct accountability to the Department and agency executive leadership and oversight offices and organizations.
- →Delivering briefings at high-level program reviews, milestone decision briefings, and industry forums attended by technical and functional personnel and high-ranking government and industry officials to explain new or contemplated developments, accomplishments, and acquisition program status.
