About the Role
You will serve as the ACCOUNTING MANAGER in the Accounting Division, Comptroller Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
What You'll Do
- →You will prepare directives to assure compliance with financial management and accounting policies promulgated by higher authority.
- →You will develop new or specialized procedures to solve problems where no clear precedents exist.
- →You will provide interpretations of accounting reports, statements, and data which point out trends, identifies deviations from standards and/or plans, and projects data into the future.
- →You will provide technical guidance and assistance to operating personnel throughout the Command, other ship maintenance activities, customers, and higher-level authority in interpreting and utilizing financial accounting data.
- →You will establish and maintain effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of supervisors, management officials, Department Heads and other high level officials and/or representatives of other Federal activities.
- →You will plan work to be accomplished; assign priorities; evaluate performance; interview candidates for key positions and make hiring decisions and selections.

Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess A degree in Accounting or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓(The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law).
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR A combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
