About the Role
The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified candidate for an Accountant Position in Wichita Kansas.
What You'll Do
- →The duties of the Accountant consist of but are not limited to the following: Participate in daily operations of the Medical Center's accounting system and responsible for systematic verification and appraisal of records, reports, related transaction.
- →Maintain accounting records and accumulate cost data.
- →Prepare, review, and analyze accounting reports and statements.
- →Reviews and complete corrections for reconciliations.
- →Perform quarterly quality assurance reviews and monitor corrective actions taken.
- →Provide technical assistance to Accounting Technicians in the maintenance of the General Ledger in cost accounting functions.
- →Analyze and evaluate current general accounting methods and procedures in terms of adequacy and effectiveness.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday.

Requirements
