What You'll Do
- →You will prepare containers with appropriate blocking, bracing for shipment of both general cargo and hazardous materials You will be required to fabricate shipping containers to military specifications, for all materials including hazardous materials.
- →You will construct a full range of standard and nonstandard containers requiring complex bracing.
- →You will use a variety of hand tools, machinery and mechanized equipment while performing duties associated with this position such as wood working machinery, radial arm saws, band saws, drill presses, generators, drills, screw/nail guns, and more.
- →You will prepare packing lists, stencil containers with shipping instructions, and perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment You will adhere to rules and regulations for proper packaging of hazardous materials and sensitive shipments in accordance with prescribed regulations.
- →You will measure and weigh items, determine appropriate packing method, select necessary lumber and materials, inspect lumber for compliance and perform moisture tests to certify lumber for use.
