About the Role
This position serves as Without Compensation (WOC) Research Health System Specialist with the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: The incumbent will work on various studies investigating the biological and psychological aspects of posttraumatic stress disorder; responsible for all aspects of data collection and management which may include the transport of urine, blood, and saliva samples.
- →Additional responsibilities include advertising and recruiting subjects, study document maintenance, and institutional review board correspondence.
- →The incumbent will have direct patient contact during the study recruitment.
- →Work Schedule: Intermittent (Without Compensation)
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education.
- ✓Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement).
- ✓Therefore, applicants must report only attendance and/or degrees obtained from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
- ✓Applicants can verify their education accreditation here.
- ✓All education claimed by applicants will be verified by the appointing agency accordingly.
- ✓Applicants using foreign education to meet the qualification requirements must attach a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with their transcript in order to receive credit for that education.
