What You'll Do
- →You will be the Strategic Systems Programs on-site engineering lead responsible for the conduct of the formal test program certifying Strategic Weapon(s) System component installations and sub-system performance at Quonset Point, Rhode Island.
- →You will interface daily with the Prime Contractors responsible for manufacturing, installing, and testing the Strategic Weapon(s) System with the U.S Construction shipyard for the COLUMBIA Class submarines.
- →You will ensure satisfactory system performance and to resolve any technical issues that arise during the conduct of the test program.
- →You will coordinate with applicable Strategic Systems Programs Technical Branch and their Design Agents personnel to ensure effective, smooth, and efficient installation and testing of Strategic Weapon(s) System components and sub-systems.
- →You will effectively manage the resolution of technical/engineering problems encountered during Strategic Weapon(s) System installation and test.
- →You will develop engineering documentation as necessary in support of technical or program decisions for the COLUMBIA Class submarine program as it pertains to the Strategic Weapon(s) System.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
