This position is located in the Fleet & Family Readiness (FFR) Program, within the Commander, Naval District Washington. The purpose of this position is to design and produce various forms of marketing material to promote FFR facilities, programs and events.
What You'll Do
- →Monitors and maintains workload schedule and assures deadlines are being met.
- →Evaluates production time to assure an efficient and cost-effective operation.
- →Fulfills all responsibilities of a graphic artist, including, but not limited to the following: Designs and produces finished graphic material and projects used to promote all aspects of FFR operations, activities, events, and facilities from verbal and written communications.
- →Projects include magazines, brochures, posters, fliers, menus, logos, letterhead, tickets, table, tents, forms, business cards, video production, photo editing, electronic marquee notices, social media visuals, and editing/updating the FFR web page.
- →Photography and videopgraphy may be required at activities and events.
- →Majority of work is computer-generated.
- →Communicates regularly with FFR customers and Marketing staff to ensure draft work receives approval of the requestor, deadlines are met, and organization goals are accomplished.
- →A basic understanding of the FFR mission and the purpose of various FFR activities are necessary, which may require occasional visits to customer location and attendance at events.
- →Communicates regularly with FFR customers and marketing staff to coordinate efforts and maintain progress on projects.
- →Keeps informed of project status, workload condition and departmental concerns.
- →Responds to customer comments and complaints in an effective manner.
- →Complaints not resolved by incumbent will be referred to immediate supervisor.
- →Exercises tact, diplomacy and courtesy when serving and assisting customers.
- →Maintains computer files in accordance with department standards for all completed work, including photographs, to assist with development of designs for recurring activities and to display various options the customer can use to describe his/her preferences.
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position OR equivalent combination of directly related education, training and three years recent experience that demonstrates skill in computer graphic applications.
