What You'll Do

  • If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Victim Witness Unit responsible for the District's Victim Witness program.
  • Typical work assignments will include: Determining program eligibility for victim and witness services.
  • Assisting Assistant U.S.
  • Attorneys in locating victims and assessing their ability to testify in court proceedings.
  • Providing in-court support to victims during and prior to hearings and trials.
  • Coordinating with Federal, state, and local law enforcement and victim service providers in establishing comprehensive assistance plans to support victims.
  • Conducting victim assistance workshops, seminars, presentations, and meetings with law enforcement personnel, Federal investigative agency victim specialists, state and local officials, and members of community organizations.
  • Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
  • Department of Education.
