About the Role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Is the Victim Advocate in the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Prevention (SHARP) program, providing care and supportive services to victims of sexual harassment/sexual assault. Serves service members/family members, DoD civilians/contract personnel, when authorized.

What You'll Do

  • Provides comprehensive assistance, information, and referral to victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment, offering advocacy and educational services to service members, family members, DoD civilians, and contract personnel, when authorized.
  • Coordinates medical, legal, civilian and/or military law enforcement resources to address immediate risk, safety, and supportive service needs in accordance with applicable policy, prioritizing confidentiality, and informed consent.
  • Collaborates closely with victims to develop and adapt safety plans and needs assessments to prioritize and address potential risks and vulnerabilities, applying trauma-informed best practices and informed consent throughout.
  • Maintains victim confidentiality and rights throughout the process and conducts detailed trauma-informed assessments for adult sexual assault cases.
  • Develops detailed case management plans with short and long-term goals and objectives and engage in ongoing support activities tailored to the victim’s needs.
  • Serves on the Sexual Assault Review Board (SARB), community boards, and committees representing the SHARP Program.
  • Assists in training and outreach sessions for diverse stakeholders and local populations, providing information about SHARP policies, procedures, reporting options, and other pertinent topics delegated by the SARC or Lead SARC.
