About the Role

This UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER is located is located within an Air National Guard (ANG) Force SupportSquadron, Commanders Support Staff (CSS) and is part of the CA 146 AW.

What You'll Do

  • →THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION.
  • →The primary purpose of the UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, GS-0301-9, is to function as the Unit Deployment Manager (UDM), responsible for executing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of personnel and equipment readiness and deployment planning in support of Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN) requirements.
  • →Coordinates movement with Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) and Traffic Management Flight for Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN).
  • →Manages unit readiness reporting through the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).
  • →Manages unit deployment operations in coordination with the Installation Deployment Readiness Center.
  • →Monitors readiness using the AFFORGEN-Connect Commanders Toolkit and Military Personnel Data System.
  • →Maintains electronic Deployment Readiness Checklists (e-DRCs) and Air Force Deployment Folders(e-AFDFs).
  • →Conducts reviews and ensures checklist accuracy.
  • →Provides technical guidance to leadership on unit deployment capabilities.
  • →Advises the commander on tasking response, shortfall mitigation, and application of deployment policies.
  • →Interprets Joint, Air Force, and MAJCOM planning guidance and briefs leadership on applicable requirements.
  • →Develops workload mitigation plans to maximize deployable capability.
  • →Evaluates Unit Type Code (UTC) package composition and recommends changes based on unit capability.
  • →The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military.

Requirements

  • ✓Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval.
  • ✓PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest.
  • ✓Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • ✓May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period.
  • ✓U.S. citizenship is required.
  • ✓Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • ✓Must maintain proper security clearance.
  • ✓This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
  • ✓Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance.
  • ✓Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required prior to position assignment.
  • ✓Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work required or have a combination of education and experience.
  • ✓(Only graduate education in excess of the amount required above may be used.) When there is a positive education or certification requirement, or you are using education to qualify as a substitution for experience, copies of transcripts (unofficial) and/or certificates are required at the time of application to verify that you meet the educational/certification requirement or substitution.
  • ✓Failure to provide transcripts and/or certificates at the time of application will result in automatic disqualification.
  • ✓Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
