About the Role

This position is part of the Department of Energy's Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs. As a Tribal Engagement Specialist, you will coordinate and conduct outreach and engagement activities that will advance energy projects on Tribal lands.

  • Veterans shape the future of energy As a full performance level Tribal Engagement Specialist at the GS-14 level, you will: Execute strategies for Tribal and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Organize outreach programs, to include event participation, in order to build relationships with Indian tribes, Alaska Natives and Native American communities to further advance energy projects.
  • Coordinate external-face meeting planning, analyze outreach impacts, and develop reports, findings and briefings to agency leadership.
  • Represent and serve as a point of contact in meetings with tribal leaders, federal officials and external stakeholders to advance tribal energy development while respecting federal treaty and trust obligations.
  • Analyze data and develop solutions to improve work processes and operations associated with engagement opportunities with Tribes.
  • Act as a resource to assist tribes in gaining information on accessing a variety of energy programs.
