Serve in a developmental assignment to provide the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the full range of duties described in the target position description. Perform duties outlined in the target grade position description but will operate under closer supervision. Assignments are given with more specific instructions and guidance until the incumbent has gained familiarity and experience with the work and can perform all duties at the full performance level.
What You'll Do
- →At the GS-05 developmental level, the Supervisor or higher-level employee provides continuing assignments indicating generally what is to be done, required information, limitations, deadlines and priorities.
- →The Supervisor provides advice or additional specific instructions for difficult, new or specials assignments including work methods.
- →The incumbent serves as a Transportation Assistant - Transportation Coordinator acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs.
- →The incumbent works with the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation, and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program.
- →The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse.
- →The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; (3) Program Support responsibilities.
- →The incumbent must have knowledge of clinical services, related software, and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation.
- →Major duties include but are not limited to: Performs work involving consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling.
- →Daily responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS).
- →Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports.
- →Reviews documents, reports and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
- →Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
- →Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas.
- →Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations.
