About the Role
The Training Specialist is located in the Education section of the Office of Quality, Safety & Value (QSV), which is aligned under the Office of the Director. The primary duties include, but are not limited to: managing several employee development curricula; teaching in one or more of these curricula; overall program management of various employee development programs and all associated performance measures; ensuring that educational programs are designed to fit the employee needs.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent is responsible for the design, development, and management of major health care system-wide development programs and curricula (e.g., New Employee Orientation (NEO), Emerging Leaders Development Program (ELDP).
- →These duties include, but are not limited to: Developing learning objectives; training content; participant handouts; and interactive, participant-centered, accelerated learning activities.
- →Researching information for course content; literature searches; searches of appropriate audiovisual and other supplemental training tools; and using judgment in selecting the most appropriate tools and teaching methods from a wide variety of possible choices.
- →Coordinating and managing these programs, the incumbent ensures technical compliance and strategic alignment, and may teach several topics within the complex curriculum.
- →Analyzes historical data of past survey results, soliciting and analyzing feedback from service chiefs, supervisors, focus groups, external training consultants, union officials, and other individuals.
- →Facilitates various courses, with participant groups ranging from specific staff to health care system-wide groups and is responsible for accommodating the learning needs of various participant groups across the health care system.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
