About the Role
You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST for the Material Handling Equipment Program in the PRODUCTION ENGINEERING & FACILITIES DIVISION (Code 986), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will design and develop complex training curricula and materials, incorporating advanced instructional methods such as scenario-based training, simulations, and technology-enhanced tools.
- →You will manage the Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training program at PNSY, including Detachment San Diego and Temporary Duty Locations.
- →You will provide input on Powered Industrial Vehicle design, performance, and work processes for program improvements.
- →You will Incorporate lessons learned from Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) mishap investigations, near-miss reports, Team Learning Sessions, and other incident reports to improve safety and effectiveness of the program.
- →You will participate in investigations into Powered Industrial Vehicle related mishaps and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Requirements
- ✓In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
- ✓GS-11 Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
