About the Role
The primary purpose for this position is to provide traditional counseling, healing, and cultural education services to the Chinle Service Unit patients/clients and staff under the direction of the Coordinator of Native Medicine. This position is located in the Office of Native Medicine, Division of Public Health at Chinle Service Unit, Chinle, Arizona. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
What You'll Do
- →Provide traditional healing and counseling, cultural education, consult and resources services to sustain cultural beliefs and values in correspondence with western medicinal health care procedures.
- →Acknowledge personal care, native diagnostic procedures, and ritual treatment procedures to contribute to the holistic health care of patients.
- →Provide native diagnostic procedures and ritual treatment procedures, including simple ceremonies, blessings and spiritual therapeutic sweat services.
- →Provides training on native medicine and culture to patients, community groups, service unit staff.
- →Provided education services to patients and community groups in the traditional beliefs related to health issues, disease process, health promotion, and prevention of illness.
Requirements

- ✓Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.

- ✓Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
