About the Role
This vacancy is for a Trade and Industry Analyst in the Defense Industrial Base Division (DIB), Office of Strategic Industries and Economic Security (SIES), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration (EA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) within the Department of Commerce.
What You'll Do
- →As a Trade and Industry Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Assemble and analyze business/industry program information on the U.S. industrial base, national security, and/or critical technologies to execute statutory responsibilities under the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended, Executive Order 13603, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, and the Export Control Reform Act of 2018.
- →Identify procedural problems in program operations such as Section 232 investigations and reports, defense industrial base surveys and reports, and other industrial analyses, using quantitative or qualitative methods.
- →Conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations in reports related to the U.S. industrial base, national security, and/or critical technologies.
- →This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Trade and Industry Analyst GS-1101-9, Full Performance Level (FPL) GS-13 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- ✓This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position.
- ✓You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- ✓This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
- ✓A probationary period may be required.
