THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (MI G6), Position Description Number NGD1585P01 and is part of the MI JFHQ Army, Michigan Army National Guard. MICHIGAN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. What You'll Do
- →***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in an information management organization.
- →The purpose of the position is to serve as the principle manager responsible for digital communications services planning, resource, policy and standards development for the entire enterprise infrastructure.
- →This position directly coordinates with the C4 work centers, local telephone companies, long distance service providers and other vendors as required.
- →The communications services supported extend beyond the traditional telephony systems, often referred to as plain old telephone systems (POTS).
- →Directly coordinates with the Network Control Center (NCC) Manager on all communications services in direct support of the enterprise strategic IT plan. --Has overall responsibility for determining funding requirements, preparing budget requests, and executing the communications budget to achieve near term and strategic goals.
- →Establishes metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance and total cost of ownership. --Provides policy guidance in coordination with the operational elements of the NCC Manager regarding digital communications issues to the DCSIM for statewide implementation.
- →This position is directly responsible for conducting IT audits on all communications programs within the state to include a broad range of services and technologies. --Writes policy and plans for the installation Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- →Distributes and balances workload among employees.
- →Gives on-the-job training to lower-graded employees.
- →Approves leave for assigned employees.
- →Provides input into annual performance appraisals.
- →Resolves simple complaints and grievances, referring the more serious ones to the supervisor.
- →Recommends training needs for employees.
- →Provides input to the supervisor concerning selections, promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance.
