About the Role
THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (MI AASF1), Position Description Number NGD1063000 and is part of the MI AASF 1, Michigan Army National Guard. MICHIGAN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. What You'll Do
- →***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF).
- →The AASF provides Aviation Unit Maintenance (AV UM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported units.
- →The purpose of this position is to act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.
- →Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and projection of maintenance requirements to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness.
- →Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft.
- →Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations.
- →Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints.
- →Controls and performs work assignments based upon priorities, workload, availability of parts, facilities, material and personnel.
- →Oversees ground movement of aircraft.
- →Incumbent launches, recovers, parks and services aircraft.
- →Makes diagnoses and solves malfunctions of aircraft systems and components by utilizing a wide variety of complex, state of the art computerized and/or noncomputerized Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE); by studying layout drawings, blueprints and wiring diagrams; and analyzing specifications and operating characteristics of aircraft and their components.
- →Assists AV CRAD/DEPOT level maintenance activities on individual assigned aircraft discrepancies as required.
- →Ensures Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflects status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft.
- →Provides technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies, experienced in-flight characteristics and system malfunctions.
