What You'll Do

  • You will install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment including voice, data, cable plant, network, and digital communication systems.
  • You will perform operational testing, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on telecommunications equipment and circuits.
  • You will read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, and building plans.
  • You will locate and correct system faults such as wiring issues, loose connections, failed components, and signal transmission problems.
  • You will install and maintain inside and outside plant cabling systems including aerial drops, terminal poles, cross-connect terminals, and structured cabling infrastructure.
  • You will use telecommunications and electronic test equipment such as volt/ohm meters, telephone/network test sets, signal indicators, continuity testers, and associated diagnostic tools.
  • You will work with AC/DC electrical systems and understanding electrical relationships associated with telecommunications systems.
  • You will support Local Area Network (LAN) physical infrastructure and assist with identifying and repairing physical access and connectivity problems.
  • You will provide technical guidance or instruction to lower-graded employees or team members on telecommunications installation and repair procedures.
