About the Position: You will independently manage library operations. This job is open to Current USACE employees with competitive status.
What You'll Do
- →Manage and direct all facets of the Technical Library and Information program, establishing long-range goals, priorities, and policy formations.
- →Supervise and coordinate the daily workflow of supporting contract personnel, academic interns, and summer-hire staff.
- →Curate and catalog the specialized technical collection (covering engineering, environmental, earth, and hydrological sciences) using OCLC and USACE Digital Library frameworks.
- →Formulate acquisition policies and identify operational deficiencies to implement modern, cost-effective information management technologies.
- →Develop in-house databases and coordinate with computer specialists to optimize technical information storage and retrieval systems.
- →Execute complex literature searches utilizing advanced computerized database systems to retrieve elusive technical publications for project teams.
- →Plan and execute annual budgets for electronic databases, consortia agreements, book purchases, and critical library infrastructure upgrades.
- →Maintain auditable financial records for all library-related expenditures to prevent premature depletion of allocated funds.
- →Serve as the primary liaison/POC on library service contracts and represent CENWP at professional conferences and inter-agency information exchanges.
- →Establish resource-sharing partnerships with DoD components (Army, Navy, Air Force), DTIC, the Library of Congress, and academic networks.
