This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Directorate for Education, Training and Research, Department of Graduate Dental and Medical Library in Bethesda, MD. Advances military medical readiness by supporting patient care, education, training, and research. Provides staff, healthcare providers, and command leadership with literature searches, database access, and essential publication support. Library operating hours are Monday-Friday, 0700-1700.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as an expert on-line bibliographic searcher with substantial acquisition responsibilities.
- →Acquires monographs, government documents, and other information media through on-line vendor databases.
- →Administers and implements purchase requests, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), and deposit accounts for the acquisition of published material.
- →Performs bibliographic computerized searches and researches specific patron inquiries using resources like PubMed, CINAHL, and Embase.
- →Instructs patrons in the use of the library and computerized resources available for public use.
- →Maintains access to electronic and print resources, including registering and activating new e-resources titles.
- →Educates library staff and library users on issues associated with electronic resources and monitors their usage.
