What You'll Do
- →The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
- →If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Analyzes and resolves tax processing problems using research methods beyond information submitted by the taxpayer to manually reconstruct and compile tax records in determining tax liability or refund entitlement.
- →Identifies, accepts, or rejects claims.
- →Identifies, relates, and cites tax law and case actions.
- →Adjusts current and prior year tax accounts involving complex account interrelationships or codes to override controls, retrieve data, and construct records from frozen accounts.
- →Calculates taxes, penalties, and interest.
- →Identifies gaps in internal procedures and processing methods.
- →May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer; and provides technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- ✓Probationary Period - A person who is required to go through a probationary period and then is transferred, promoted, demoted, or reassigned before he or she completes such period is required to complete the remainder of the probationary period in the new position.
