This National Guard position is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic (Temp Promo) -T32, Position Description Number D1194000 and is part of the CSMS, MATES, FMS 9, FMS 8, FMS 7, Wisconsin Army National Guard. *NOTE: Location will be based on selectees preference. **At management's discretion, this Temporary Promotion may be made permanent without further competition in accordance with 5CFR 335.103(c)(1)(i)
What You'll Do
- →As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic (Temp Promo) -T32, WG-5801-10, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, inspect, and/or overhaul a variety of complex combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment having complicated mechanical and non-mechanical systems with a variety of interconnected systems.
- →Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower grade employees.
Requirements
- ✓MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
- ✓This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

- ✓Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 and WO1 Conditions of Employment: Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- ✓Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- ✓An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- ✓Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- ✓May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- ✓Able to wear authorized PPE as duties require.
