What You'll Do
- →You will direct the program lifecycle for all facility cranes, managing long-range budgeting, strategic equipment acquisitions, and major repair plans.
- →You will supervise and lead quality assurance specialists and technicians, managing work schedules, performance ratings, and professional development.
- →You will act as project manager for major crane procurements and system upgrades, overseeing designs, technical drawings, and contractor execution.
- →You will establish and enforce quality assurance programs, equipment inspection rules, and load testing safety certification protocols.
- →You will serve as the technical contract representative to monitor contractor performance, enforce compliance, and negotiate contract modifications.
- →You will lead engineering investigations into mechanical or electrical equipment failures to determine root causes and design lasting solutions.
- →You will continuously evaluate technology advances in weight handling systems to integrate modern safety, reliability, and maintenance upgrades.
- →You will represent the organization as the lead technical liaison to external stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, and executive leadership.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
