You will serve as a SUPV CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Fleet Support Contract Division of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
What You'll Do
- →You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by employees in the program, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.
- →You will determine responsibilities, evaluate employee performance, recommend appropriate incentives, initiate corrective actions, assures safety practices, and keep employees informed of management and personnel policies.
- →You will be responsible for the full scope of contract analysis to include procurement of supplies, services, construction, research and development.
- →You will serve as a recognized authority to develop and implement recommendations and solution to contract problems, risks, and outcomes in pre-award and post-award procedures to plan and conduct the contracting process.
- →You will be responsible for assignments that are characterized by very broad and intense efforts, and involve several phases being pursued concurrently or sequentially.
- →You will coordinate and liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, and contractors in DoD, other government organizations, and industry.
- →You will act as the senior expert on the Navy’s next contracting writing system, Electronic Procurement System (ePS), responsible for planning and deployment of ePS for the NAVSEA Contracting Competency.
- →You will act as the senior expert on eBusiness program policies and business process initiatives, identify policy changes in key problem areas, and analyze, develop, and update component-level eBusiness policies and procedures.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
