About the Role
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6HSAA US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD. Serve as a legal advisor on matters pertaining to Administrative Law, Ethics, Contracts Fiscal Law, and Management Employment Relations (MER).
What You'll Do
- →Provides legal advice to the Commander and their staff, Army Operations Group (AOG), subordinate commands, and other units concerning the conduct of intelligence activities and intelligence oversight.
- →Reviews and determines recommendations to Commander based on findings and interpretation of new, proposed, and existing legislation, policies and regulations governing intelligence activities and oversight.
- →Represents and advises Commander on litigation involving AOG.
- →Provides legal advice to the Commander and their staff, AOG, and other units as designated regarding administrative preparations, investigations, civilian personnel, litigation, and administrative matters.
- →Serves as chief counsel in administrative hearings involving civilian personnel.
- →Reviews proposed contracts for legal sufficiency and provides legal advice to contracting officials and acts as legal counsel to Commander on contract matters.
- →Serves as an immediate supervisor, providing basic operational and administrative oversight to the team to include work schedule management, ensuring adequate staffing and maintaining necessary equipment and supplies to meet mission requirements.
