About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Supervision: Has full authority over program management, staff supervision, performance evaluations, clinical skills assessment, workload, competencies, and personnel responsibilities.
  • Manages program data and collaborates with the Homeless Services Section Chief on administrative, operational, patient, and personnel activities.
  • Develops systems to monitor and improve service quality, tracking reports and Veteran encounters as per HCHV directives.
  • Implements and assesses clinical guidelines to ensure appropriate service utilization.
  • Supervises employees across GS levels, providing both administrative and technical oversight.
  • Manages performance expectations, monitors work, offers feedback, handles grievances, and enforces safety and EEO policies.
  • Recommends personnel actions and coordinates staff training.
  • Uses sound judgment to interpret trends and recommend improvements.
  • Conducts program analysis, development, and public outreach.
  • Coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of projects, often within community settings remote from the main unit.
  • Direct Patient Care: Performs biopsychosocial assessments with Veterans, families, and significant others to identify strengths and needs, focusing on homeless Veterans, including OEF/OIF/OND, geriatric, and gender-specific populations.
  • Completes intake assessments, documents data, and develops service plans with short- and long-term goals.
  • Refers Veterans to VA and community providers, educates them about available services, and advocates for their needs to promote independence.
  • Coordinates community planning and facilitates meetings with Veterans and providers.
