About the Role

The Community Housing and Outreach Services (CHOS) Social Work Supervisor ensures for program integrity, overseeing the utilization of Housing and Urban Development - Veteran Affairs Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program vouchers in their coverage area within the VA Puget Sound. May also supervise staff from other CHOS programs, as assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties will include, but are not limited to: The supervisory social worker is responsible for the professional and administrative management of an area in a social work service, in a care/product line, or multiple facilities.
  • They provide direct clinical services with or without program coordination responsibilities.
  • Performs HUD-VASH voucher reconciliation and monitoring of utilization for geographic area (may include multiple public housing authorities (PHA)).
  • Monitor and manage electronic medical homeless consults for geographical area as assigned.
  • Incumbent works with staff to effectively shape provider practice patterns to improve standing on performance measures.
  • Consistently relates to supervisors, co-workers, patients, visitors, and the general public in a courteous and cooperative manner, contributing to the effective operation of the social work program.
  • Effectively communicates with and utilizes other disciplines (e.g., nursing, medicine) to facilitate treatment planning and implementation.
  • With few exceptions, participates effectively in team meetings, treatment planning conferences, etc.
  • Work Schedule: Monday Thru Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.

  • Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
  • When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
