The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level supervisor providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Information Security and Operations Division.

What You'll Do

  • →DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the NASIC Information Security and Operations Division ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • →Provides direct management and oversight in the development of goals and objectives that integrate organization and division security objectives.
  • →DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • →Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • →Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
  • →Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards.
  • →DUTY 3: As a NASIC Information and Operations Security expert, protects the Center from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to enterprise mission interests, national defense or national security.
  • →Develops/implements local security instructions and maintains all applicable DoD, AF, and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), regulations and instructions.
  • →DUTY 4: Makes Personnel security risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues that require deviations from or synthesis of policies that can have national implications.
  • →Applies innovative techniques as most risks cannot be pre-defined and remain broadly generic.
