The Supervisory Recreation Therapist will be responsible for the administrative management and clinical leadership of the Recreation Therapy Program. The Incumbent directly supervises a multi-disciplinary staff assigned to the Recreation Therapy Department and are responsible for planning, organizing and directing the administrative, operational, patient and personnel activities, and is available for consultation and administrative coverage for other Social Work Service Programs.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the staff of the assigned program.
- →Conducts ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies.
- →Responsible for accreditation activities, performance improvement and implementation of all directives related to the Recreation Therapy Program.
- →Develops individual, group and program goals, priorities and objectives.
- →Responsible for overseeing all aspects of data management and reporting, with the capacity to report out on Recreation Therapy services, therapeutic interventions and activities.
- →Responsible for maintaining appropriate community partnerships and the development of new community partnerships that can meet the clinical needs of Veterans served and support Veterans in becoming independent in their own recreation and leisure.
- →Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, consults, patient demographics, equipment utilization and patient satisfaction.
- →Also develops, implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
- →Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised.
- →Incumbent establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
- →The incumbent observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.
- →He/she provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance.
- →Incumbent will resolve informal complaints and grievances.
- →He/she develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary, He/she provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters.
Requirements
