About the Role

The Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) is a national clinical trial program with over 40 years of experience providing collaboration for research design, statistical analysis, data management, regulatory, technical, education, and administrative coordination for clinical trials involving various scientific areas of research conducted to improve the health and care of the Veteran and the nation.

What You'll Do

  • Duties to include but not limited to: Leading group discussions to solve problems facing the West Haven Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center (WH-CSPCC) Clinical Research Initiative Project Managers (CRI-PM team).
  • Ensuring that the CSP strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the WH-CSPCC CRI-PM team and integrating, to the degree pertinent and applicable, the mission objectives into their work plans and instructions.
  • Providing feedback and suggestions on how to improve processes to Supervisors and/or WH-CSPCC leadership/Chiefs, as appropriate.
  • Working with the WH-CSPCC management/leadership teams to review individual CRI PM workload and reassigning CRI-PMs new studies or initiatives as needed.
  • Representing the WH-CSPCC CRI-PM group in meetings and dealings with other CRI/CSP team leaders, WH-CSPCC management, and VA CSP Central Office staff on issues that have impact on that group.
  • Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.

  • Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in effect and selectees will be required to report to in-person work unless they are approved for an exception or an exemption.
  • Any approval for an RTO exception, exemption, or extension will happen after a tentative job offer, but before a final job offer.

  • Some movement within the WH-CSPCC will be required for personal contacts, attending meetings, problem analysis and so on.
  • Local and long distance travel to meetings will be required within the scope of the job assignments.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP) As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
