This position is within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Aviation Safety (AVS), Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM), Medical Specialties Division (AAM-200), Aeromedical Standards Branch/ Internal Substance Abuse Program (AAM-210). The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety. The Internal Substance Abuse Program (ISAP) is responsible for oversight of the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
What You'll Do
- →The position is a Supervisory Program Analyst responsible for managing the work of the National Drug and Alcohol Testing Program for the FAA, Regional and/or Washington Headquarters' Internal Substance Abuse Program (ISAP) specialists and other stakeholders regarding the DOT Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace program within the FAA.
- →Provides day-to-day supervision of staff responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and monitoring program performance and compliance related to the National Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
- →Integrates work of large multi-level organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the FAA and participates in strategic planning for the FAA.
- →Collaborates with DOT Substance Abuse, Awareness & Testing Office on DOT Order 3910.1 series and other program policies and procedures and oversees compliance with DOT 3910.1 series.
- →Develops training and awareness programs.
- →Directs the team in the development and implementation of national policies and procedures within FAA.
- →Reviews and approves analytical work products, including compliance reports, data summaries, audit findings, and performance evaluations.
- →Ensures analysis supports regulatory standards and program integrity, and aligns with applicable policies and public safety mandates.
- →Has the authority, within guidelines, to make commitments for the major subdivision, to establish new policies/procedures, and to make exceptions.
- →Facilitates communication and collaboration among team members and with other organizational units.
- →Directs staff for multiple programs and across multiple functions and/or disciplines within a major subdivision.
- →Applies detailed knowledge of technical aspects to direct program analysis activities and the development of statistical data analysis of various ISAP programs and reports.
- →Monitors program performance indicators and assist in identifying areas for improvement. detailed knowledge of budget, human resource management, and other administrative policies and procedures; and a comprehensive understanding of the objectives of the major subdivision, AVS, and the FAA.
- →Also applies a thorough understanding of the principles of management and strategic planning, and the ability to integrate the work of multiple organizational units/projects/programs to accomplish mission objectives.
