About the Position: This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Military Community and Family Policy (DASW (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of War for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of War, Personnel and Readiness (USW (P&R)). This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.
What You'll Do
- →Develop policy and strategic direction on casualty, mortuary, military funeral honors, and accountability.
- →Represent the Directorate in the development, review, and coordination of all relevant policies.
- →Serve as the primary policy advisor to the Director during the formal governance meetings.
- →Develop and recommend policy governing the use and future development of the Defense Casualty Information Processing System.
- →Represent the Directorate and supports the Director on the Central Joint Mortuary Affairs Board.
Requirements
- ✓A degree in funeral service and a current state license as a funeral director and/or embalmer is preferred, but not required.
