About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As the Chief, Police/Provost Marshal Division, receives general administrative supervision from the Director, Emergency Services (DES) or Deputy (DDES) who defines scope of responsibility, objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
What You'll Do
- →Develop law enforcement programs and operating plans for the installation and is responsible for planning, supervising, and managing the operations of the division.
- →Review and evaluate staff actions for adherence to organizational policy.
- →Plan for current and long-range operations based on workload trends and projected requirements.
- →Establish training programs within the department to ensure initial training, sustainment training and training on new policy and law is conducted.
- →Advise top-level installation managers on police department issues impacting them and develop acceptable solutions to problems.
- →Identify problem areas and makes necessary changes in policies and procedures to correct deficiencies and to meet short and long range objectives.
- →Direct the law enforcement staff directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors performing the various police functions.
- →Maintain good grievance procedures and personally resolve significant employee and group complaint seeking assistance as necessary.
- →Perform liaison with other military and civilian law enforcement agencies within the area to discuss problems, inter-agency support, future plans and needs, and exchange of information.
