What You'll Do
- →If selected for this position, you will join the Criminal Division team that is responsible for one of the heaviest criminal caseloads of any district in the United States.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Oversees and monitors the composition and preparation of charging documents, plea agreements, deportation paperwork and discovery, and scheduling defendants for arraignment and plea in District Court.
- →Performs necessary legal and other factual research into the substance of alleged violations to select charges and compose applicable charging documents.
- →Monitors calendar of cases set for preliminary hearing and provides calendar Assistant U.S.
- →Attorney (AUSA) with case files so that indictment can be returned or information filed before date of preliminary examination.
- →Oversees and assists in the designing, implementing and maintenance of a computer system for case monitoring.
- →Serves as technical expert for assigned unit criminal cases and provides a wide range of direct legal support services for pending cases.
- →Prepares and presents of a variety of legal documents in applying a thorough knowledge of extensive practical litigative experience.
- →Provides technical advice, guidance and assistance regarding support staff functions for the unit.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
