What You'll Do
- →If selected, you will serve as the senior Paralegal Specialist providing a wide range of complex legal support services to Assistant United States Attorneys involved in criminal prosecutions.
- →Paralegal support and research assignments require significant specialized knowledge in criminal procedures regarding White Collar, Violent Crime, and Dangerous Drugs.
- →You will also serve as the direct paralegal specialist to Criminal Division Chief, assisting in the performance of administrative, managerial, supervisory and trial duties.
- →You will supervise and manage multiple legal support staff of the United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Alabama.
- →Duties include: If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for substantive legal support to Assistant U.S.
- →Attorneys in a variety of specialized litigative activities related to public corruption investigations and prosecutions.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Performing substantive legal research using a variety of research tools.
- →Preparing draft legal and administrative pleadings and various other correspondence and legal documents.
- →Reviewing and organizing complex factual material and other documentary data.
- →Providing advice on the most efficient method for preparing legal documents.
- →Preparing a variety of substantive legal documents to include extradition requests, exhibits for trial, grand jury and trial subpoenas, interrogatory requests, and documentation relevant to acquiring evidence or testimony.
- →Preparing charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results.
- →Preparing, developing, compiling, or maintaining jury instructions in preparation for trial.
- →Providing litigation case management and organizing cases for court presentation.
Requirements
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
