About the Role
The purpose of the Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist to manage and supervises all the VTS and BT program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel, mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter- facility transfers, and common carrier transportation.
What You'll Do
- →This position supervises/ensures the VTS and BT processes comply with regulatory guidance, while assuring program effectiveness.
- →They serve as the Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, Special Mode, ambulance, and air ambulance.
- →The incumbent is also responsible for working with state Veterans and Transportation Agencies and local transportation providers to establish expanded transportation networks to improve Veterans access to care.
- →Assures that all transportation staff obtains and maintains appropriate licenses, certifications and training appropriate for each position; and, You may be expected to occasionally travel to surrounding VHA community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
