Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Houlton Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Hodgdon, ME.
What You'll Do
- →This supervisory mission support position allows you to use your knowledge and experience supervising a team that plans and carries out a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the Mission Readiness Operations Division.
- →This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
- →The Supervisory Mission Support Specialist (Division Chief) serves as a second-line supervisor for a Border Patrol Sector Mission Readiness Operations Division supervising subordinate supervisors for mission support policy, logistics, procurement, workforce and position management, and financial programs and services.
- →Duties and responsibilities include: Supervisory: providing a full range of supervisory functions for a staff that provides a diverse range of mission support services; setting priorities and schedules for completion and assigning work to direct reports; making decisions on problems presented by staff, communicating performance requirements, and evaluating work performance.
- →Management Advisor: advising the Sector Chief Patrol Agent and other senior Sector leaders on key agency mission support processes; developing overall operational plans, objectives and strategies for these processes; developing, implementing, and evaluating national programs within the agency's key support processes.
- →Planning and Programming: testing, developing, and adapting new methods and theories, recommending inclusion or modification for use by the organization; monitoring and evaluating the delivery of support services to key field managers and employees; developing and implementing short and long term plans to improve the delivery of services.
- →Financial Management: directing and overseeing the execution of budget, logistics, procurement, and quality assurance programs; developing, evaluating, and improving financial policy, plans, and processes.
