About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Mission Readiness Operations Division located in Edinburg, TX. This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first.

What You'll Do

  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security Individuals involved in supervising a team that plans and carries out a wide variety of mission support, workforce management, administrative research, and program planning activities related to the missions and functions of the division.
  • Typical duties and responsibilities include: Supervising the Workforce Management Branch and providing senior level advice regarding workforce management programs and operations.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and supervision over management decisions to a team that coordinates and performs administrative and management services.
  • Developing and delivering briefings, project papers, status and staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Developing new and modified workforce management methods, approaches, and procedures for delivering effective services to customers.
