About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Boston Field Office, located in the following locations: Area Port of Portland, Maine Area Port of Saint Albans, Vermont Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to management.
  • Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.
  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • In this Supervisory Mission Support Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.
  • Typical work assignments include: Managing a team that provides a wide range of administrative services such as budget, procurement, personnel, logistics, and office systems to support operational effectiveness.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to mission support processes while representing the office in interactions with vendors and agency partners.
  • Assigning work, setting priorities, and developing procedures to ensure efficient completion of tasks and adaptability to changing workloads.
  • Evaluating employee performance, resolving workplace concerns, and ensuring consistent application of personnel policies related to hiring, training, promotions, and recognition.
  • Encouraging staff engagement and professional development by providing guidance, supporting Equal Employment Opportunity activities, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
