About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Mission Readiness Operations Division, Policy and Compliance Unit located in Edinburg, Texas.

What You'll Do

  • In this Supervisor Mission Support Specialist role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in supervising administrative positions who provide services in direct support of operations programs.
  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10) As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, you will oversee the analyzing and resolving of problems to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities.
  • Typical work assignments will include: Providing senior level advice regarding policy and compliance programs and operations.
  • Developing new and modified policy and compliance methods, approaches, and procedures for delivering effective services to customers.
  • Developing and delivering briefings, project papers, status and staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Supervises a team that coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the USBP office.
