The Medical Administrative Services Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist. The Supervisory Program Specialist provides strategic programmatic data gathering, detailed analysis, guidance, and high-level support for healthcare management to the department, facility, network and Integrated Veteran Care.
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist for the Eligibility and Enrollment (E&E) section for the Medical Administration Service (MAS) under the Associate Director's office at the Robert J.
- →Dole VA Medical Center (RJDVAMC).
- →The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, develop, evaluate, and improve MAS administrative processes by overseeing the work of subordinate staff.
- →Duties include but are not limited to the following; Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
- →Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty, the requirements of the assignments and the capabilities of employees.
- →Develops performance plans and evaluates performance of subordinates.
- →Provides advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both technical and administrative matters.
- →Interviews candidates for positions in the office; makes recommendations for appointment, promotion, or reassignment.
- →Hears and resolves complaints, referring group grievances and the more serious complaints not resolved to higher-level supervisors.
- →Coordinates ongoing data collection and performs analysis to determine optimal organizational performance.
- →Extracts data such as Insurance Capture Buffer (ICB) rate, Return to Clinic (RTC) orders, pending Consults, Patient Pre-Registration, Clinic Utilization, and Scheduling Audits from internal and external collection points to develop comprehensive systems designed to trend data.
- →Uses available data to determine current performance, develops and implements local performance measures as needed to assess current status, and determines areas targeted for improved effectiveness and efficiencies of MAS practices.
- →Provides training for individual users on daily operational tasks and trains new users.
- →Training consists of development and presentation of both formal lectures and on-the-job sessions for those employees who will be entering, changing and extracting data.
