About the Role

Pension and Fiduciary (P&F) Service administers the pension programs and fiduciary activities for compensation, dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) and pension beneficiaries Department of Veteran's Affairs Veterans Benefits Administration. P&F Service is responsible for the development of policy, procedures, training, and oversight of the delivery of VA pension benefits and fiduciary activities worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: Serves as a senior official responsible for coordinating and integrating work while focusing on program initiatives.
  • Identifies and develops ways to resolve broad problems and cope with issues which directly impact accomplishment of principal VBA program goals that can impact internal and external stakeholders by initiating and leading projects and work groups that involve input and collaboration across the organization, federal agencies, Congressional and legislative liaisons.
  • Oversees system development to support regulations and policies for Pension and Fiduciary Service programs.
  • Ensures systems utilized for claims processing provide the functionality to support claims processing and delivery of benefits to beneficiaries.
  • Monitors performance of Pension and Fiduciary Programs.
  • Ensures that program applications used by reviewers are consistent with the Department's and VBA's performance goals while monitoring rating consistency across field stations.
  • Accountable for quality assurance on consolidated claims processing and other agency initiatives.
  • Establishes and monitors work measurement credit associated with various types of claims processing.
  • Identifies legislative proposals for both the pension and fiduciary programs that are designed to improve delivery of benefits.
  • Exercises delegated authority for management decisions related to major programs and projects.
  • P&F Service programs are established internally or at senior P&F Service levels.
  • Provides advice to the Deputy Director and Executive Director on the implementation of management and operational approaches for VBA.
  • Initiates and conducts confidential studies as a basis for recommending change in P&F Service policies or operations.
  • Ensures the efficient, effective and timely execution of assigned programs in accordance with the established objectives, schedules, and program funds.

Requirements
