The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior expert-level Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for performing work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission or other designated program and the execution of these programs in support of day-to-day and disaster operations. The duties include identifying the specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist position, you will support the Logistics Management functions at FEMA Headquarters which has responsibility for policy, guidance, standards, execution, and governance of logistics support, services, and operations, but may also rapidly pivot to disaster operations support in an emergency manager capacity.
- →Typical assignments include: Responsible for identifying and integrating significant internal and external program, policies, procedures, practices, and systems that may affect the entire agency in all areas of logistics management.
- →Plans, manages, and sustains national logistics operations in support of the FEMA regions that are responding for domestic emergencies and special events.
- →Manages the management and program review of goals, strategies, objectives, measures and metrics that support the logistics strategic plans and overall FEMA mission.
- →Manages a group of Logistics Management Specialists and Program Analysts, who, as advisors manage a highly complex, professional/ administrative workload of logistics management projects.
- →Oversees management and effectiveness of logistics programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of organization and disaster resource utilization that support agency-wide logistics.

- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

Requirements
