You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) in the LOCAL NETWORK SUPPORT CENTER of NCTSFE DET IWAKUNI JAPAN, This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***
What You'll Do
- →You will oversee and direct the local/intra-base network operations, asset management, information assurance and field services for the organization.
- →You will direct the configuration of local enterprise switches, and routers; monitoring of networks performance; performance of network diagnostics; analysis of network traffic patterns; installation of network software fixes and upgrades, etc.
- →You will plan, prioritize, and schedule subordinates work including the delegation of work to subordinate supervisors; assign work based on priorities, difficulty of work to be performed, and subordinate capabilities, etc.
- →You will develop subordinate performance standards and; exercises leave authority; evaluate subordinate performance; and advise and counsel on work and administrative matters; makes decisions on work problems presented by personnel, etc.
- →You will review the ONE-NET enterprise to assess overall compliance with IT plans and policies and alignment with mission requirements.

- ✓This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- ✓A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
- ✓The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.
- ✓You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
