What You'll Do

  • As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Serve as technical Supervisor of subordinates in planning and distributing work to be completed in accordance with short and long-term priorities.
  • Provide feedback on training and performance needs of personnel.
  • Provide technical oversight on effective design, development, integration, implementation, and operation of all management information systems and equipment.
  • Provide technical security advice on threats and vulnerabilities to properly assess risks and determine effective measures to minimize risks with systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting to resolve issues with Information Technology (IT) hardware and software systems.

Requirements

  • This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
  • Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
  • The ZP-4 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.

  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.

  • Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable (www.sss.gov) Qualification requirements must be met by closing date of the announcement.
  • Additional Considerations: One year probationary period may be required.
  • A one year supervisory probationary period may be required (probationary period can be served concurrently).
  • Payment of relocation expenses (PCS) is not authorized.
  • Payment of relocation incentives OR recruitment incentives may be authorized.
  • Note: Relocation incentives are for current federal employees only.
  • This position requires Moderate Risk Security Clearance.
  • Background investigation will be required.
