About the Role

Oversees and determines timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages while directing, planning, and assigning work to be accomplished by subordinate employees.

What You'll Do

  • Applies an advanced knowledge of all aspects of the work directed to provide leadership and guidance to a diverse staff with the responsibility to create, design, program, test, and maintain computer software.
  • This includes various principles and techniques like hypothesis testing and regression analysis validate hypotheses, model relationships between variables, and make predictions.
  • Provides expert guidance and instruction on the most recent technologies and advising on what new technological solutions and their implementation will meet business and systems requirements.
  • Creates rational strategies for upgrading the organization's network software whenever a new update is available to ensure missions operates smoothly in the event of a problem.
  • Develops and troubleshoots software using software development tools and applications, utilizes principles from mathematics and computer science to develop unit test software and software verification cases and procedures for embedded system in test systems of airborne navigation systems and flight inspection systems.
  • JavaScript (ECMAscript), ReactJS, HTML 5, CSS3, Eclipse, SQL/PLSQL, Linux Command Line, Spring framework, Maven, Git, C#, .Net Core, and Golang.
  • Communicates the organization's vision and objectives, sets priorities and schedules.
  • Ensures staff has the technology needed to accomplish duties and responsibilities.
  • Assigns responsibilities, monitors, and evaluates performance, coaches, and develops employees, approves leave, gives advice, counsels, instructions to employees on both work, technical and administrative matters.
  • Recommends or approves corrective/disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Communicates and reinforces Equal Opportunity policies and programs in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters a work environment where all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Defines, plans, and organizes assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for more than one organizational unit/project/program.
