Protect your homeland and defend your culture. Join USCIS, America's frontline defense against illegal foreign infiltration and fraud. As an Supervisory Investigative Specialist, you will oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of a team of Investigative Specialists.

What You'll Do

  • Oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of a team of Investigative Specialists, who conducts sensitive and complex misconduct investigations, surveys, inspections and evaluations.
  • Directs work; assumes a full range of delegated managerial and supervisory authorities within OI and provides both technical and administrative oversight to subordinate supervisors and staff.
  • Conducts research to produce staff papers, original analytical studies, and assessments for dissemination and/or presentation to field agents and supervisory personnel.
  • Conducts all-source analysis across the investigative programs, with primary focus on investigations involving alleged employee misconduct.
  • Develops and implements new enforcement strategies, briefs senior officials, and other key personnel on a frequent basis.
  • Prepares and presents briefings and conducts staff coordination to gather and disseminate needed information to audience.

Requirements

  • Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
  • Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
  • You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
  • Motor Vehicle Operation: This position requires operation of a motor vehicle.
  • You must possess a current valid driver's license.
  • EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
