About the Role
About the Position: New Employees: Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current Army Employees: Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five (5) years. Time limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
What You'll Do
- →Supervises, plans, directs, organizes, assigns, coordinates, and reviews the work of subordinate employees engaged in design and review of engineering design documents, construction operations, contract administration, etc.
- →As the Senior Project Engineer, position is in charge of all field and office engineering functions for projects within the assigned geographic area.
- →Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative on all assigned construction contracts.
- →Assumes full responsibility for administering safety programs (i.e., those of the District, OH OSHA, Fed OSHA) within the field office.
- →Participates in design criteria studies and design review conferences; performing Biddability, Constructability, and Operability (BCO) reviews; conducting site showings; conducting or participating in pre-construction conferences.
- →Coordinates construction planning and scheduling with contractors, outside regulatory agencies, end user; overseeing construction at all stages to identify problems and to take corrective action.
- →Reviews and processes shop drawings, payment estimates and other contractor submittals.
