The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as AFTAC's senior expert and focal point for identifying, initiating, and expanding new research and development partnerships and mission areas within the US Government (USG) and internationally. Serve as a leading authority and directly interface with seniors across all elements of government and with international partners and leaders.
What You'll Do
- →DUTY 1 - Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Division, ensuring that R&D, technology transition, and partner engagements comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- →DUTY 2 - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- →Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
- →DUTY 3 - Represents the division with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- →Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with senior civilian and military scientists, policymakers, and R&D managers (e.g.
- →SES, MIL 0-6, GG-15, academic R&D Vice Presidents) on a wide range of matters, which include highly unstructured and interconnected problems involving both difficult technology and complex human relations, or programmatic issues, etc.
- →DUTY 4 - Develops and fosters collaborative R&D relationships across the DoD, USG agencies, international partners, industry, and academia to close enterprise-level capability gaps and broaden the impact of technical collection and analytic reporting.
- →DUTY 5 - Provides technical oversight and program management for strategic R&D partnership and state-ofthe-art advanced concept development across the full spectrum of AFTAC mission areas.
- →Establishes near-term and strategic technical objectives to meet the goals of the Strategic Integration Directorate.
